Highly localized light field on metallic nanoarrays prepared with DNA nanofibers.

We have reported a one-step method for creating one-dimensional metallic nanoarrays on surfaces. This method is based on the processes of solvent vapor-induced buildup and controlled drying front movement, and forms parallelly aligned metallic nanoarrays exceeding several hundred micrometers in length on a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) sheet. Strong light scattering originating from highly loca...

Synthesis of Polypyrrole Coated SnO2-ZnO Electrospun Nanofibers via Vapor Phase Polymerization Method

This paper reports the synthesis of polypyrrole coated SnO2/ZnOelectrospunnanofibers via vapor phase polymerization method. In order to prepare one dimensional (SnO2- ZnO)/polypyrrole with the core sheath structure, first SnO2-ZnO composite nanofibers were synthesized via electrospinning method followed by adsorption of Fe 3+  on the surface of the SnO2-ZnO nanofibers and finally pyrrole w...

Well-aligned graphitic nanofibers synthesized chemical vapor deposition

Well-aligned graphitic nanofibers on a large scale have been grown on Ni(100) wafers by plasma-assisted hot filament chemical vapor deposition using a mixed gas of nitrogen and methane. A two-stage control of the plasma intensity has been used in the nucleation and growth stages of the fibers. The growth direction of the fibers is perpendicular to the substrate surface and the plasma-induced Ni...

Control Mechanisms for the Growth of Isolated Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanofibers

Isolated vertically aligned carbon nanofibers (VACNFs) have been grown using dc plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition, and the effects of the growth conditions on VACNF morphology and composition have been determined in substantial detail. The dependence of the growth rate, tip and base diameters, and chemical composition of isolated VACNFs on the growth parameters is described, including t...

Optimized Conditions for Catalytic Chemical Vapor Deposition of Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanotubes

Here, we have synthesized vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VA-CNTs), using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. Cobalt and ethanol are used as the catalyst and the carbon source, respectively. The effects of ethanol flow rate, thickness of Co catalyst film, and growth time on the properties of the carbon nanotube growth are investigated. The results show that the flow rate of ethanol and...
